6th Graders Visit Historical Society Museum

The Greenwood County Cattlewomen, with support from the Greenwood Historical Society and Mr. Mike Pitko, organized a local history lesson for 6th grade students.

During the lesson, students learned about the pivotal role that the cattle and oil industries played in shaping the community’s development. They toured historic downtown buildings, including Memorial Hall and the post office mural, and even selected their favorite Main Street building for a hypothetical future business venture in Eureka.

Mr. Pitko provided valuable historical context as the students explored the museum and completed a scavenger hunt. Ultimately, the students gained a deeper appreciation for the importance of preserving local history and the collective efforts required to build a thriving community.
