Hamilton Students Conduct Research for Book

September 17 was a busy day at the Greenwood County Historical Society museum as 9 3rd & 4th grade students arrived right at opening time to do research on their class project. – a book about Hamilton, Kansas. With the guidance of their teacher, Rochelle Butler, helper Kara Nutsch, museum board members John Bills, Jan Stephens and volunteer Joyce Bills, students researched a variety of subjects about Hamilton. These included businesses, services provided such as fire departments and livery stables, cemeteries, and any disasters that might have happened in the area.

Students enjoyed a picnic lunch outside the museum and toured the horse-drawn farm equipment display before doing a tour of the museum and heading back to school.
